established by scope of practice and unit standards. Addresses
physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of
patient and family throughout the continuum of care. Formulates,
coordinates, and provides plan of care as established in unit
standards including, patient and family education, family needs and
discharge planning throughout hospitalization with members of the
interdisciplinary team. Provides direct patient care including,
treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy
and procedure. Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and
revises plan of care based upon patient response to interventions.
Initiates collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and
other interdisciplinary team members and acts to proactively
resolve and facilitate patient needs. Problem solves, troubleshoots
and takes corrective measures in the care and handling of
equipment. Participates in unit-based decision-making regarding the
utilization of evidence- based practice. Actively participates as a
team member working toward team goals of the unit and organization
and is accountable for unit and system specific metrics. Actively
participates in patient quality and safety education programs and
other activities designed to improve departmental and
organizational quality and safety. Work is typically performed in a

requires a (.9) FTE schedule 36 hours/weekly with (3) 12-hour
shifts Schedule options include choice between day/night rotation
or straight nights RNS are given the option to self-schedule in (4)
week time blocks Rotating weekend and holiday shifts required *No
straight day shift schedules are offered Adult ICU or Pediatric ICU
Float RNs at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville will receive an
additional $5 in float premium, in addition to hourly base rate,
applied to all hours worked. Shift differential pay includes the
following: Monday through Friday shifts worked after 3pm: An
additional $6 applied to hourly base plus float premium
Saturday/Sunday shifts worked prior to 3pm: An additional $4
applied to hourly base rate, plus float premium Saturday/Sunday
shifts worked after 3pm: An additional $7 applied to hourly base
rate, plus float premium Nurses with this team will be required to
float shift assignments throughout all adult intensive care units.
Options to add a second regional unit specialty, such as Med/Surg
or ED assignments, will increase the float premium from $5 up to
$10. Prior and/or current working experience with inpatient float
shift work or inpatient travel nursing is preferred, but not
