Our client, Advanced Conversion Technology, Inc is looking for an
experienced Accountant. This on-site, full-time position will
report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for
general ledger and monthly closing processes, maintaining the cost
accounting system used to cost and price quotes and proposals,
preparation of all monthly account reconciliations, preparation of
monthly adjusting journal entries and assisting in the preparation
of monthly financial statements.
Essential Responsibilities include:
- Prepares monthly adjusting entries and performs monthly closing
process
- Assists in creating the monthly financial reports, including
the balance sheet, statement of cash flow, income statement and
supporting statements
- Maintains the current costing system used in establishing
selling prices
- Participates in the preparation of yearly budgets and quarterly
forecasts
- Monitors inventory, inventory adjustment reports and perpetual
inventory system, including auditing all cycle counts to ensure
inventory accuracy
- Supplies reliable cost of manufacture information which
contributes to the improved utilization of assets
- Assists in maintaining appropriate continuity of content for
all fixed and variable departmental budgets with the operating
budget
- Posts and processes accounts payable transactions
- Assists with TINA/CAPA support for bills of material, costing
and pricing models
- Serves as point person for the annual 401(k) audit, outside
accounting firm book audit and Worker's Compensation audit, aiding
and gathering necessary account information and documents
- Serves as back up for biweekly payroll processing and all
related reporting
- Performs other related duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent
commensurate education and experience
- 3+ years of experience in an accounting role preferred
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted
accounting principles (GAAP).
- Experience in financial systems and work measurement systems,
including Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems (Syteline
preferred).
- Experience working with government contracts, a plus
- Excellent problem-solving and follow through practices
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
- High level of detail and accuracy in their work
- A strong work ethic
