This hands-on role involves process improvement initiatives, including policy and procedure implementation, documentation of internal controls, and system enhancements. As the Controller, you will work closely with manufacturing department managers, auditors, insurance and accounting firms. This position reports to the CFO.Key responsibilities include:

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial results are accurate, timely and in accordance with GAAP.
• Provide leadership to improve accounting processes and research technical accounting issues.
• Manage month-end close including consolidation, preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and serve as the key liaison between external auditors and the group.
• Delegate duties to accounting team members and develop, document and implement internal controls.
• Support final completion of a new ERP system with the ERP Team.
• Oversee the financial close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, financial statements and analysis.
• Ensure accurate account, sub-ledger and bank statement reconciliations.
• Utilize the ERP system to analyze key cost analysis and performance metrics and provide reliable financial data.
• Manage A/R for timely collections and monitor and analyze business performance.

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting required; MBA a plus.
    • CMA or CPA preferred.
    • Minimum of 7 years of progressive finance and accounting experience required, manufacturing industry experience highly desired.
    • Demonstrated experience as a controller in a finance or accounting capacity.
    • Prior experience leading and developing a staff strongly desired.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to learn quickly while working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and thinks like a general manager with strong diagnostic skills.
