Job Description:
Position Title: Sr Analyst Customer Finance Position Location:
Hershey, PA Summary: Position will provide financial guidance
around: customer account planning, monthly reporting on progress
toward annual objectives, variance analysis, and resolution of
financial challenges with insights into profit and revenue drivers.
Services provided will include proactively assisting customer teams
in managing their P&Ls, analyzing promotional spending
opportunities, compliance with internal controls and facilitating
discussions of customer financial issues. This individual will
interact with Senior Directors, Directors and Managers in Finance,
Sales, Marketing, and Operations, and will work closely with
Customer Sales Executives, Sales Planning, Supply Chain and Global
Shared Services personnel. Provides data and insights to the
Selling organization to enhance decision support. This position
requires personal leadership, a "can do attitude" toward achieving
sales plans and targets, initiative, and frequent cross-functional
teamwork. Major Duties/Responsibilities: Time % Summary of major
duties: 1. 30 Financial Analysis and Customer P&Ls: Provides
analysis, commentaries, and supporting schedules that detail and
summarize the financial performance of customers supported;
Provides portfolio financial support and guidance around variances;
Consults customer teams on actions that they may take to improve
their financial results (i.e., Net Sales, Sales Activity Margin,
etc); Provides direction in managing budgets associated Trade,
RD&As, DMEs, and Selling Expenses. Examples may include:
solutions to minimize customer waste and tactical action plans for
increasing the efficiency of Trade and DME investments; and Provide
timely and accurate analytics to support actionable business
decisions. 2. 25 System and Data Analysis Expert: Partners with
CSE's to help them improve their skill set as it relates to PlanEx
Customer Sales and Trade Planning; Provides Tradewinds technical
and process support to Sales Teams; Maintains familiarity of
significant customer related investments, including trade
promotions, waste, customer specific direct marketing expenses and
various selling expenses; Performs various analyses on trade
spending, profitability, consumer takeaway and sales trends;
Utilizes available data from PlanEx, IRI, and SAP to provide
meaningful insights to Customer Sales Teams; and Leverages system
tools to compile data into actionable formats that influence smart
decisions. 3. 25 Sales & Trade Planning: Influence sales partners'
on-going estimate processes and ensure their understanding and
consideration of key factors that may impact their estimates;
Assist customer teams to build their annual and strategic plans;
Collaborate with Sales Finance leadership and Sales leadership to
highlight customer investment opportunitiesand efficiencies; and
Works with customer teams to help them to improve the accuracy of
their periodic sales and trade estimates through insightful
questions and analysis. 4. 10 Special Projects, Coaching, Mentoring
and Training: Participates in initiatives to develop and advance
CSE's skill set as it relates to sales and trade planning; Supports
Sales Planning teammates to provide PlanEx technical training as
necessary; Coaches new hires & interns on processes & systems
necessary to perform their role; and Participates on special
projects as assigned by Department leadership. 5. 10 Accounting
Close Process: Participates in monthly, quarterly and year-end
accounting close processes focusing on accuracy of trade accruals;
Facilitates discussions with Sales teams to ensure appropriate
focus and follow-up on topics such as waste and deductions; Ensures
accounting data is valid and that all periodic reporting
requirements are met; and Ensures customer teams understand their
responsibilities around accounting policies and internal controls.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully
perform major duties/responsibilities: 3+ years of business
experience, including accounting, finance, FP&A and sales,
interacting with sales & marketing. Knowledge of financial concepts
and reporting. Basic understanding of consumer products businesses
and go-to-market trade strategies. Ability to analyze and integrate
multiple data sources into a useful decision format. Identifies
issues/opportunities, and assists in solution finding process.
Experience working in a team environment. Effective communicator
with technical and non-technical individuals. Ability to lead and
facilitate small group meetings. Demonstrated proficiency with
Microsoft Office Suite, above average knowledge of Excel Ability to
learn and utilize software such as PlanEx, SAP, and Nielsen/IRI.
Ability to travel 5 - 10% Minimum Education and Experience
Requirements: Education: BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business
Administration, Marketing or Equivalent. Experience: Minimum Three
(3) Years experience in Sales Finance, Marketing Finance, Financial
