New Story Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our innovative team. This role involves creating and implementing individualized educational programs for students with special needs, fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the specific needs of each student. Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and professionals to create a supportive network for students. Assess students' skills to determine their needs and to develop appropriate teaching plans. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests. Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining accurate and complete records. Manage classroom dynamics, implementing behavioral strategies and interventions as necessary. Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with best practices in special education. Proven ability to develop and implement effective IEPs Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience with various classroom technologies Ability to manage challenging behaviors Patience and resilience in handling complex student needs Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k State Certification in Special Education CPR and First Aid certification preferred
