Job Description Job Description Salary: $45,000 (based on experience and education) Behavioral Health Associates (BHA) is an educational organization. We offer an academic learning environment integrated with behavior support services for students diagnosed with emotional/behavioral disorders to empower the students in overcoming challenges and creating new stories in their lives. We will have an opening for a full-time Permanent Substitute Teacher (all certifications considered). POSITION GOAL Day to day job duties of a substitute teacher are determined by the classroom teacher and may vary depending upon the changing needs of the classroom(s), student(s), and/or clients. Substitute teachers are subject to daily reassignment depending on the needs of the day. The substitute teacher must comply with the duties outlined by the classroom teacher or designee. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reports to the office upon arrival for check-in and reviews the plans and schedules for the day. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about school personnel. Assumes the responsibility for overseeing student behavior in the classroom, during lunch, activity periods and out-of-class settings. Executes instructional activities with individual students or small groups of students following the absent teacher's lesson plans. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. Proficiency in maintaining efficient classroom management skills. Conduct yourself in a polite and professional manner with other staff members and building administrators. Other duties may be required that are not enumerated here that are part of the classroom teachers curriculum or duties. QUALIFICATIONS B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field teaching Pennsylvania certification/private certification in teaching (ALL CERTIFICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED) Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology Basic computer literacy BENEFITS Full Time Time Off for School Holidays and Breaks Choice of Two Medical Plans, Dental, and Vision BHA is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
