Eaton's Power Components Division is currently seeking a Lead Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Moon Township, PA location.

Position Overview:

The Lead Engineer is responsible for new product introduction and the development of Meters and Communication products, along with Desktop software applications. The Lead Engineer will spearhead engineering projects from the initial planning proposal by Product Management through the production launch for use in commercial and industrial markets. This position has potential to move to engineering leadership role in the future.

In this function you will:
Industrialize the system electronics development of Energy and Power Quality Metering along with Power Distribution Communication Products
Lead device configuration software application development
Design and develop specifications and essential performance for the system
Work with electronic suppliers and development partners in the management of outside design & manufacturing activities.
Handle multiple projects and priorities, with the ability to switch focus as priorities change.
Partner with marketing, project manager and other team members to provide feedback and estimates on specifications for product or process systems from customer requirements.
Coordinate activities with other functional areas, suppliers, contractors and consultants.
Partner with the team, suppliers and others to establish project schedules and budgets. Establish and review plans for multiple activities/projects; monitor and take corrective action as schedule impacts occur.
Design and develop specifications and essential performance for the products
Manage design controls, develop and define requirements, & testing protocols
Apply knowledge of electrical engineering disciplines such as analog and digital circuit design, microprocessors, firmware development, and digital signal processing.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years work experience in electrical product design and software combined.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:
Knowledge of designing and testing analog and digital circuits
Knowledge of architecture and designs with multi-processors and processors with multi-cores
Experience with developing firmware development, hardware bring-up an BSP development
Experience in designing products to meet UL safety requirements and working with UL for certification
Knowledge of RTOSs
Experience with industrializing products with international-based contract manufacturer
Understanding of cybersecurity in general

Position Criteria:
Willingness and ability to travel internationally on specific per-project assignments if necessary, to complete industrialization and new product introduction tasks with manufacturing partners.
