Co-Supervisor's Title Daily Direction Position Summary The Vice
President for Information Technology/Chief Information Officer (
CIO ) will provide leadership, vision, management, and advanced
technical knowledge in the design, development and implementation
of the College's strategic plans for Information Technology. The VP
will coordinate campus-wide Information Technology planning between
the Information Technology Services, Office of Instructional
Technology, Academic Affairs School offices, Administrative
offices, Madigan Library and the Workforce Development office.

*Current knowledge of computing and communications-related
technology such as digital networks, telephony, multimedia
applications, distributed computing, hardware and software
infrastructure, and cloud-based services. (Minimum) Education
*Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems,
Technology Management or related discipline. (Minimum)
*Master's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems,
Technology Management or related discipline or equivalent
combination of education and experience. (Highly Desired)
Experience *Eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressively
responsible leadership experience in information technology,
encompassing strategic planning, budgeting, process improvement,
and managing IT resources, staff, and services. (Minimum)
*Experience with Anthology/CampusNexus ERP . (Highly Desired)
*Experience in computer systems analysis and design. (Minimum)
*Experience with VoIP telephone, video distribution, and library
information systems. (Minimum)
*Experience with data communications and networking. (Minimum)
*Experience in building strong collaborative relationships with
partners inside and outside of IT. (Minimum)
*Demonstrated success leading initiatives focused on
transformational change, within IT and the larger organization.

*Leadership experience in a higher education environment. (Highly
Desired)
*Experience with development, installation and maintenance of ERP
systems in an educational environment. (Highly Desired)
Responsibilities and Duties Responsibilities and Duties
Essential:
-Envision, investigate, design, and champion the development of new
IT-based systems and solutions that support the College's
mission.
-Provide strategic vision and leadership in the development of
policy and prioritization of resources for the rapidly changing
information technology environment.
-Coordinate campus-wide IT planning between: ITS , Office of
Instructional Technology, Academic Affairs School offices,
Administrative offices, Madigan Library and the Workforce
Development office.
-Work with all IT Directors to develop strategic long-range IT
plans into annual operational plans.
-Facilitate the open discussion of campus IT plans and policies at
all levels of the campus administration.
-On President's Council, serve on the Emergency Management
Committee, and the Accessibility in Information Technology
Committee.
-Interface with IT organizations at other colleges and universities
and participate in EDUCAUSE events and other IT user groups.
-Develop long-range plans, standards, policy and guidelines for the
deployment of computing and Internet technologies throughout the
campus.
-Provide the vision and champion the use of the Internet to enhance
College marketing, improve student services, and facilitate campus
communications.
-Build, expand, and enhance the IT infrastructure through the use
of professional technology-acquisition practices.
-Lead the effort to formulate an effective computer and network
security plan for the campus.
-Develop campus policies on the appropriate uses of digital
information, electronic communications, networks, and
computers.
-Supervise the department administrators, Enterprise Applications &
Systems, Enterprise Systems & Infrastructure and Educational &
Emerging Technologies.
-Conduct research and evaluation necessary to facilitate the
acquisition, installation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure
equipment including; computer hardware and software, network
hardware and software.
-Recommend personnel changes to the President, such as hiring,
promotion, termination, training, and staff development.
-Review and oversee the annual operating and capital budgets for
all IT departments.
-Work collaboratively with administrators, deans, directors,
faculty, academic and administrative staff, and students in
identifying and implementing effective uses of technology.
-Effectively negotiate and assess contracts and license agreements
for competitive pricing, compliance, risk management and data
security.
-Collaborate with campus leadership in planning for disaster
recovery and business continuity.
-Provide for continual skill and professional development among ITS
staff and assure that staff have the resources and skills to
perform their responsibilities effectively.

syllabi, timely use of the grade feature, and collection of digital
student work and distribution of digital course materials. College
