Columbia Cottage is seeking an engaging professional with managerial experience to join our team as the Memory Care Director for our NEW Linglestown Cottage scheduled to open by early 2022!

Columbia Cottage is a premier Assisted Living Community that provides compassionate and quality care and support services in PA. We support an Aging in Place philosophy and offer 10 levels of care to our residents. We have cottages in Hershey, Hanover, Wyomissing, and Collegeville. In the new year, we will open our newest and largest location in Linglestown, PA. Our new cottage will have 73 units including 51 assisted living units and 22 memory support units.

    Memory Care Director

    The Memory Care Director provides leadership and manages the operations of our Memory Care unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in memory care and a compassionate understanding of the impact of neurocognitive impairment on the individual and family.

    Duties include (but not limited to):
    • Develop, Create, plan, and organize the daily programming for the Memory Care Neighborhood. Coordinates service provided to Residents.
    • Oversees all operations within the Memory Care Residence. Works in collaboration with Dining Services, Activities, Maintenance, Housekeeping, laundry, volunteer services, transportation, and Nursing.
    • Ensures that medical records and other sources of health information are maintained according to regulations.
    • Ensures all external regulatory reporting requirements are completed in a timely and accurate fashion.
    • Provides active and visible leadership. Makes rounds frequently to assess the needs of residents, families, and team members, and takes appropriate action to address the concerns in a timely manner.
    • Directs and supervises staff development and training.
    • Assist with tours and marketing the neighborhood.
    • Interviews prospective residents and their families to determine acceptability in conjunction with the Managing Director.
    • Prepares and submits reports for PA agencies.
    • Requisitions supplies and equipment, maintains inventory, inspects equipment and furnishings.
    • Develops positive working relationships with Residents, staff, Supervisors, and Managers.
    • Works closely with food services to coordinate health care and foodservice needs.
    • Provides personal care assistance.
    • Monitors and supervises daily personal hygiene of Residents.
    • Reports changes in Residents' physical condition to family and physician as appropriate.
    • Coordinate the move-iPrefer 4 years' experience in caring for people with dementia and in developing and facilitating programming. A minimum of 2 years prior Supervisory experience preferred.n and move-out of Residents.
    • Records observations and activities of Residents.
    • Prepares monthly activity calendar.

      • Must have an overall caring attitude.
      • Possess initiative, integrity, and responsibility with the ability to make decisions. Must have the ability to plan and adapt to change.
      • Understands the problems of aging and is interested in creating an atmosphere of "caring" among the staff.
      • Familiar with gerontology and an overall view of health care delivery. Must display an understanding of local, state, and federal laws and regulations.Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a team.
      • CPR/First Aid certified.
      • 4 years of experience in caring for people with dementia and in developing and facilitating programming. A minimum of 2 years of prior supervisory experience is preferred.
      • A degree in a related (Social Services, Behavioral Health, Therapeutic Recreation, Nursing) field is preferred.
      • Certified Dementia Practitioner and Certified Alzheimer Disease and Dementia Care Trainer preferred.
