JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Berks is seeking a Laboratory Manager for biochemistry
and chemistry teaching laboratories.
Job Responsibilities:
This position involves preparation of laboratories for students
taking biochemistry, molecular biology, general chemistry, and
organic chemistry labs.
Work includes basic molecular biology and microbiology prep as well
as organic and general chemistry prep.
The technician will prepare all solutions, allocate supplies,
maintain flow of supplies for laboratory sections, implement
continual safety policies, maintain equipment, clean glassware, and
perform other lab duties as needed.
The manager interacts regularly with the teaching faculty to ensure
continuity among sections of the same course and to ensure weekly
preparation of each laboratory.
This is a 40 hour/week, full-time position.
This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from the
date of hire with the possibility of re-funding.
Education:
4+ years of related experience.
Bachelor's Degree or higher.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
