  JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  Penn State Berks is seeking a Laboratory Manager for biochemistry and chemistry teaching laboratories.
  Job Responsibilities:

  • 
    This position involves preparation of laboratories for students taking biochemistry, molecular biology, general chemistry, and organic chemistry labs.
    
    
  • 
    Work includes basic molecular biology and microbiology prep as well as organic and general chemistry prep.
    
    
  • 
    The technician will prepare all solutions, allocate supplies, maintain flow of supplies for laboratory sections, implement continual safety policies, maintain equipment, clean glassware, and perform other lab duties as needed.
    
    
  • 
    The manager interacts regularly with the teaching faculty to ensure continuity among sections of the same course and to ensure weekly preparation of each laboratory.
    
    
  • 
    This is a 40 hour/week, full-time position.
    
    
  • 
    This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from the date of hire with the possibility of re-funding.
    
    
    Education:
    
    • 
      
    • 
      4+ years of related experience.
      
      
    • 
      Bachelor's Degree or higher.
      
      
    • 
      Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
