Job Description:

employment.Willow Valley is hiring a Director of Nursing to oversee
all nursing operations in Skilled Care. Responsible for assuring
clinical excellence and ensuring appropriate staffing levels with
no or minimal agency use. Assures compliance with federal, state
and local regulations and takes prompt corrective action when
deficiencies are noted. The DON works with the nursing team to keep
CMS star rating at a good or excellent level.Opportunities with

a positive, encouraging, and educational environment for Team
Members.Effectively plans, organizes, and directs administration of
each nursing unit, assuring Residents of a comfortable, clean,
orderly and safe environment. Evaluates nursing service needs and
determines staffing requirements.Develops and maintains nursing
service objectives and standards of nursing practice, develops
nursing policies and procedures and reviews/revises job
descriptions for nursing personnel.Monitors nursing practices and
equipment for compliance with federal, state and local
regulations.Mentors each Clinical Nurse Manager and ensures that
they are appropriately and effectively managing their unit.Executes
Resident care policies in consultation with the medical
director.Directs the hiring and training of nursing
staffEstablishes procedures for the administration and control of
medications in consultation with Quality Standards of the
Pharmacist and Pharmacy Committee.In conjunction with the
Healthcare Administrator, determines the need for improvements,
deletions and/or additions to equipment, programs and service
contracts.Responsible for completion of forms for state and federal
requirements, including Medicare.Performs duties of staff nurse, if
needed and is on-call for emergencies that supervisory personnel
cannot handle.Uses educational resources and works with the
supportive Living education department to maintain and update
nursing staff on current gerontological/medical and nursing
practices.Provides supervisory support to all shifts.Manages
subordinate Team Leaders who supervise Team Members in the Nursing
Department. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination,
and evaluation of the nursing areas. Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and
applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and
training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work;
appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining/firing Team
Members; addressing complaints and resolving
problems.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree (B. A.) from four-year
college or university; OR1-2 years related experience and/or
trainingCurrent Pennsylvania RN License, with applicable CEUs
required.Hours:40 hrs/weekSchedule:8:00am-5:00pm Mon-Fri; Off Hours
