Our client is Central Pennsylvania is searching for full-time Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Scientist candidates for their open evening shift and night shift positions. The ideal candidate will be nationally certified as a Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Scientist but candidate eligible for certification will be considered. Responsibilities of the Medical Technologist:
Performs test on patient specimens using techniques in chemistry, hematology, serology, immunology, bacteriology, and immunohematology to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease and to prepare blood products for transfusion.
Maintains and does troubleshooting for automated instruments. Responsibilities in this area are frequently redefined. May include parts of daily, weekly and monthly maintenance; diagnosing and repairing malfunctions, cleaning, calibration, operational checks and adjustments for any laboratory equipment.
Analyzes quality control specimens according to established schedules, maintains records, evaluates results and takes action or refers to supervisor as necessary.
Able to use various types of machinery, lab equipment, and complex computer programs to perform the test.


Requirements of the Medical Technologist:
Bachelor of Science degree
ASCP (or equivalent) is preferred but eligible candidates will be considered.
Comfortable working on evening or night shift.
