Job Summary---Directs, implements, and evaluates activities which produce fully insured and self-funded commercial membership growth through sales of products and services. Acts as the primary representative for commercial sales with internal and external stakeholders. Establishes annual membership budget projections, staff sales quotas, measuring results and managing the commercial sales team, both small group and large group sales, fully insured and self-funded. Participates in departmental budgeting and forecasting, short-term and long-term strategic planning, sales incentive plan design and implementation, and participation and interaction with leadership across multiple regions and functional areas.
Job Duties

  • Directs, implements, and evaluates activities which produce fully insured and self-funded commercial membership growth through sales of products and services.
  • Oversees the hiring, training, development and supervision of the commercial sales team.
  • Establishes annual membership budget projections, staff sales quotas, measuring results and managing the commercial sales team, both small group and large group sales, fully insured and self-funded.
  • Communicates commercial sales priorities and collaborates with internal partners to build the capabilities necessary to offer competitive products in the market.
  • Responsible, along with the Sr Director of Client Services, for the annual commercial sales plan and the development and deployment of the tactics to achieve the goals of that plan.
  • Fosters relationships with key stakeholders with decision-rights or influence of commercial group sales.
  • Builds and maintains trusted relationships with commercial group brokers and general agencies. -
  • Develops group and broker incentive plans to drive business to desired segments and to meet sales targets
  • Collaborates closely with Marketing to ensure communications and messaging are developed and deployed to support sales needs
  • Participates in the departmental budgeting and forecasting, short and long-term strategic planning, sales incentive plan design and implementation.
  • Regularly assesses the Health Plan's position in its markets to identify changing expectations and requirements of actual and potential customers; determines the position in relation to competitors and identifies new opportunities for existing and new products.
  • Establishes effective liaison with employers, business groups and system leadership. Responsible for developing stronger relationships with major clients.
  • Makes presentations to employers, brokers, consultants at industry functions to educate prospects on Geisinger and its care model.
  • Works with other system entities, as appropriate, to identify sales opportunities of various products and services to employers.Work is typically performed in an office environment.
