Medical Center (PSHMSHMC) is seeking new Division Chief of
Pediatric Cardiology & Director of the Children's Heart Group.

What we're seeking:
+ A nationally recognized leader who carries a record of leadership
to propel a high-performing world-class pediatric cardiology
program that has significant support from the community and the
institution.
+ Ability to build external relationships, lead philanthropic
efforts, and serve as a figurehead of the Division in the community
and on the national stage.
+ This leader will support the growth of comprehensive research
programs that support the basic, clinical, and translational
research that emphasizes institution-wide collaboration and
innovation.
+ Superior people management and leadership qualities, with the
ability to serve as a mentor in furthering the leadership and
research skills of the faculty in the Division.
+ The Division Chief will oversee a strong teaching program that
supports the growth of future physician-scientists and will be
responsible for academic and clinical planning, development, and
resource management.
+ Develop a keen understanding of the complexities of PSCOM, PSHCH,
the Penn State Heart and Vascular Institute, and other key PSH
components to form effective and collaborative working
relationships.
+ Actively lead and develop the Congenital Heart Disease Center at
the Penn State Health, further expand the reach and reputation of
clinical programs. Enhance the clinical and translational research
portfolio to better provide leading edge therapeutics and grow the
clinical trials platform.
+ Enhance clinical operations with the goals to increase clinical
productivity and optimal utilization of advance practice providers
while at the same time improving
+ Build upon the current partnership with Penn State Heart and
Vascular Institute through the promotion of collaborative clinical
trials and research.
Candidate Qualifications:
+ MD, DO, or equivalent degree or MD/PhD from an accredited
institution.
+ Board certification in Pediatrics with fellowship training in
Pediatric Cardiology.
+ Board-certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
+ Eligibility for permanent, unrestricted licensure in
Pennsylvania.
+ Candidates must qualify for appointment at the Professor level at
PSCOM.
+ Management/Leadership experience desirable.
About the Division:
+ The Division of Pediatric Cardiology serves as one of the
nation's premier programs that is built on the pillars of
leading-edge clinical care, advancing scientific discovery, and
developing the next generation of leaders in the field. Supported
by world-class faculty, the Division has consistently been ranked
by the U.S. News and World Report as a top 50 pediatric cardiology
program for the past decade and is currently ranked #17 in the
nation.
+ With a diverse portfolio of clinical and academic capabilities,
the Division is supported by 15 faculty members, which includes 12
pediatric cardiologist, one Ph.D. researcher, and 2 pediatric
congenital heart surgeons all of whom are supported by seven
advanced practice providers. Uniquely, the division of pediatric
cardiac surgery is housed in the Department of Pediatrics, an
arrangement that allows seamless collaboration between medical and
surgical cardiology disciplines. Our Pediatric Heart Center
actively collaborates with the Penn State Health Heart & Vascular
Institute (HVI), especially for Adult with Congenital Heart Disease
(ACHD). This collaboration will provide unique opportunities for
the Division Chief of Pediatric Cardiology to participate in and
potentially lead the planning of the Congenital Heart Disease
Center at Penn State Health (CHDCPSH).
+ The Division is committed to training the future workforce in
pediatric cardiology through a 3-year ACGME accredited program. The
fellowship program provides a comprehensive curriculum that
balances the development of clinical excellence with the pursuit of
scholarly activity. There is a strong emphasis on mentorship and a
multidisciplinary approach.
+ Led by Yatin Vyas, MD, Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and
Pediatrician-in-Chief, PSHCH, faculty and staff are dedicated to
improving the lives of children through innovation and outstanding
care. Home to over 200 faculty including scientists, physicians,
and advance practice providers (APPs), the Department's efforts in
research, education and clinical care programs are consistently
recognized among the best in the country. The Department is
comprised of 20 divisions including a robust research and clinical
presence and strong education programs. The Department has
operating revenues of nearly $45 million and currently holds
reserves of $2 million.
+ Clinical services are delivered at PSHCH as well as at 63
specialty practices across 37 outpatient clinics and 10 outreach
locations throughout the top 10 counties from which PSHCH receives
patients. In 2021, US News and World Report ranked PSHCH as one of
the nation's best in five pediatric specialties: Children's
Cardiology and Heart Surgery (#17) and in Children's Cancer (#38),
Pediatric Pulmonology & Lung Surgery (#39), Neonatology
