Job Description






The Laboratory Manager will manage the Chemistry Laboratory to provide prompt and accurate analyses of all raw materials and finished products; develop new analytical techniques as required; provide support for QA/QC functions; and partner with manufacturing, purchasing, and quality control departments as well as external suppliers and customers.Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine methods of routine analysis
• Assume responsibility for the calibration, operation, and maintenance of all laboratory instruments and equipment
• Supervises and coordinates the activities of the lab staff to ensure assignments are completed in a timely manner
• Develop and maintain a library of certified reference materials when such materials existEducation and Experience:
  • A Bachelors degree (preferably in Chemistry, physical science or engineering) from a college or university; or years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge and experience in analytical spectrochemical methods for metals
  • Understanding and knowledge of analytical chemistry and quality systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications
