Job Title: Respiratory Care Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a respiratory therapist in Adult Critical Care and NICU. License: Required state licensure. Certifications: BLS, CRT, NRP Must-Have: 1 prior travel assignment completed, ED experience required, ACLS and PALS preferred. Description: The traveler will perform airway management and suctioning tasks. Responsibilities include endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation, nasal airway placement, and oral airway placement. The role involves pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy suctioning. ABG interpretation and troubleshooting high pressure alarms are essential skills. The therapist will assist in high-risk deliveries and perform umbilical blood gas analysis. Familiarity with various respiratory medications and devices is required. The candidate should be comfortable drawing and analyzing ABGs. Knowledge of charting systems is necessary. There is a float requirement between Adult and NICU units. Weekend coverage is required every other week, with holiday coverage expected. No on-call requirement is associated with this position.
