MedStar Health, a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization serving the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist for our evening shifts. This vital role prioritizes patient-first care through the management and administration of medications across our various facilities. As part of our team, you will directly contribute to our mission of offering top-tier healthcare services, from primary to advanced surgical procedures. The position requires adept skills in pharmaceutical care, a deep understanding of medication management protocols, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic clinical setting. Review, prepare, and dispense medications and ensure accuracy and integrity of all medication therapy. Advise healthcare providers on potential side effects of medications and suggest appropriate substitutions when needed. Monitor patient medication therapies for effectiveness, safety, and adherence, intervening as necessary. Participate in patient rounds with other healthcare professionals to provide direct patient care. Develop medication management systems to streamline pharmacy operations and improve patient care. Educate patients and their families on medication usage and precautions. Supervise and train pharmacy staff and interns. In-depth knowledge of drug administration and health protocols. Ability to respond effectively under high-pressure situations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active Pharmacist licensure in the state of Maryland, D.C., or Virginia as required. Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or other relevant specialty certification preferred.
