Job Description:
System Freight, Inc., a leader in direct-to-store deliveries and
fleet outsourcing services, is seeking a dedicated CDL-A Local
Driver in Reading, PA. This position is crucial for maintaining the
efficiency and timeliness of our transportation solutions, focusing
predominantly on our operations within the Northeastern United
States. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe
and prompt delivery of cargoes, adhering to pre-defined routes, and
contributing to our commitment of exceptional service to our
clientele. Safely operate a tractor-trailer/truck to complete
scheduled deliveries within the local area. Inspect vehicles for
mechanical items and safety issues, performing preventative
maintenance as needed. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules,
complying with all DOT regulations and safety standards. Document
and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving to retain
compliance with federal and state regulations. Coordinate with the
dispatch team and communicate any issues or deviations from the
planned route in a timely manner. Load, handle, and unload goods in
a manner that ensures safety and minimizes the risk of damage.
Maintain positive relationships with customers during deliveries,
representing System Freight, Inc. professionally at all times.
Proven work experience as a truck driver with a clean driving
record. Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly. Extensive
knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations
(traffic, weather conditions etc.). Ability to operate electronic
equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.). Medical Insurance
Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Valid truck driving license
(CDL-A). Must have completed a certified driving training course or
apprenticeship. No recent moving or driving violations.
