Job Description:

Interstate Waste Services, a leader in non-hazardous waste management in the Northeast U.S., is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to anchor and facilitate HR strategies that support our mission of sustainable and efficient waste management solutions. The HRBP will act as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues, assess and anticipate HR-related needs, and seek to develop integrated solutions. This role requires a proactive approach, keen understanding of the waste management business environment, and ability to navigate complex human resources issues. Consult with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate. Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues; conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation. Develop contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers. Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning. Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs. Strong understanding of HR policies and procedures. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing environment. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
