Platform Management and Integrations As a Distinguished Engineer at

building our community. Distinguished Engineers are expected to
lead through technical contribution. You will operate as a trusted
advisor for our key technologies, platforms and capability domains,
creating clear and concise communications, code samples, blog posts
and other material to share knowledge both inside and outside the
organization. You will specialize in a particular subject area, but
your input and impact will be sought and expected throughout the
organization. In this role, you will work with our Enterprise
Search and Knowledge Management team to provide deep technical
expertise for 3rd Party SaaS based Enterprise Collaboration
Platforms, and their associated Platform Management and
Integrations (Google Product Suite, GCP, Office 365, Azure, AWS,
Vertex AI), and designing large scale migrations into the Google
Platform. You will be a thought leader on how to successfully
deploy and maintain an Enterprise Search capability spanning
technology stacks to the enterprise. The successful candidate will
have a deep understanding of how 3rd Party Platforms and both
internal and external communication services (email) integrate and
interact with large scale systems within a large, regulated
enterprise environment. Additionally, you will provide mentorship
and strategic guidance to our engineer, product, and leadership

responsibilities: - Articulate and evangelize a bold technical
vision for Enterprise Collaboration Platforms, Technical Excellence
in Well Managed Integrations, and Knowledge Management practices -
Collaborate and partner with other Distinguished Engineers,
Accountable Executives, and other executive stakeholders to
influence and align the organization around critical strategic
initiatives and solutions. - Provide technical leadership to
platform engineers, product managers, and all other stakeholders
leveraging a deep understanding of Google product suite, Google
Cloud Platform, and other critical collaboration platforms -
Partner with our Governance, Risk, and Controls teams to identify
endemic and emerging risks in our technology, as well as develop
elegant and effective strategies to address and mitigate those
risks in a highly governed ecosystem. - Lead and support the
development, governance, and integration of generative AI
technologies into our 3rd Party Product Suite - Collaborate with
product management, Architecture, and Engineering teams to define
and implement data-driven strategic roadmaps with a focus on third
party platform integrations - Provide strategic consultation on
management and application deployment in Azure and GCP - Ensure the
quality of technical design and implementation - Serve as an
authoritative expert on non-functional system characteristics, such
as performance, scalability and operability - Demonstrate a
continuous learning mindset, proactively injecting advanced
technical knowledge into our community with a focus to deliver high
quality tangible technical impacts to the broad collaboration
ecosystem. - Handle several projects simultaneously, balancing your
time to maximize impact - Act as a role model and mentor within the
tech community, helping to coach and strengthen the technical
expertise and know-how of our engineering and product community -
Identify and curate opportunities for our tech talent to
demonstrate improvements to both technical skills and non-technical
behaviors - Demonstrate influence over our internal partners,
aligning them to our strategic goals, as well as our external
partners and vendors, developing the relationships needed to steer
product roadmaps and long term imperatives - Become a talent magnet
for the organization, drawing in superior talent from the industry.
Participate in the vetting and interviewing process to provide
insight and feedback to hiring managers for our technical scopes.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree - At least 7 years of
experience in software engineering - At least 4 years of experience
in Cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) - At least
3 years of experience designing and implementing large-scale,
distributed systems Preferred Qualifications: - Master's or PhD
Degree in Computer Science or a related field - 3 years of
experience with Google Workspace services, architecture, and
management (or other large collaborative platforms) - 10 years of
professional experience coding in commonly used languages like
Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Swift, etc. - 7 years of
experience in Software OR Platform engineering with a focus on
search technologies, 3rd Party platform integration, and Cloud
implementations - 7 years of contributions to open-source projects
or research publications in relevant fields - 5 years of experience
with patents or innovative solutions in collaboration platforms and
knowledge management systems Capital One will consider sponsoring a

position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for
this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this
salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work
within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One
is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for
part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number
of hours to be regularly worked. McLean, VA: $263,900 - $301,200
for Distinguished Engineer New York, NY: $287,800 - $328,500 for
Distinguished Engineer Plano, TX: $239,900 - $273,800 for
Distinguished Engineer Richmond, VA: $239,900 - $273,800 for
Distinguished Engineer Candidates hired to work in other locations
will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and
the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the
time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer
letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based
incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or
long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or
