Job Description:
Reset your expectations of a health and wellness agency. From
our inception, Fingerpaint has been driven by an unstoppable
collective spirit of possibility. It’s that curiosity that’s at the
heart of everything we do. From our legendary people-first culture
to the hundreds of Fingerpainters who define us, we’ve reimagined
what it means to be a healthcare and wellness advertising agency.
Here, creativity happens naturally—we attract top talent and give
them a space to grow and collaborate. The Wet Paint AI Innovation
team is a dedicated R&D group focused on transforming our ways
of working with applied AI. We identify high-value opportunities
and build the agents, tools, and workflows that will empower the
broader agency to achieve its business goals and imagine new
solutions. Role Overview The Creative Technologist is a hybrid
"Maker-Strategist" responsible for bridging the gap between
imaginative creative expression and hard technology. This role is
built on the principle that impactful innovation requires a
visionary who can translate abstract intent into technical reality.
You will set the creative-technical vision, help shape the
execution plan, and work hand-in-hand with engineers and data
specialists to implement solutions that push boundaries. This role
ensures that our AI solutions are not only technically feasible and
compliant but are also creatively inspiring and strategically
leveraged to drive business outcomes. This individual collaborates
closely with Engineering to translate abstract concepts into
functional prototypes, driving the creative application while
ensuring a seamless pipeline from concept to code. Please note that
this is a hybrid role that requires 2 days per week onsite in
Philadelphia, PA. Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Vision &
Creative-Technical Feasibility Define the Creative-Technical
Approach: In partnership with the Wet Paint team, you evaluate
abstract creative ideas for feasibility and identify the specific
AI models or APIs required to bring them to life. Partner with Data
Specialists and Software Engineers to translate high-level agency
solutions into concrete creative-technical specifications. Identify
gaps and opportunities in our current technical stack and
collaborate with engineering peers to advise on the infrastructure
necessary for future innovation. Innovation & Rapid Prototyping
(The "0 to 1") Partner on the Prototype: Work with Engineering to
move ideas from concept to functional proof-of-concept in hours,
not weeks. Focus is the creative utility and user experience of the
prototype ensuring it proves the intended business value. Champion
the "art of the possible" by continuously experimenting with
emerging tools to expand the agencys creative capabilities. Develop
and maintain a toolkit of custom scripts, prompts, and workflows
that serve as force multipliers for our traditional creative teams.
Technical Creative Direction Provide creative and UX direction to
ensure that the AI-generated assets meet the agencys aesthetic and
brand standards. Act as a "Universal Translator" who can explain
complex technical capabilities into clear business advantages for
clients, and translate abstract creative concepts into specific
tasks for developers. Collaborate with the extended team and
contribute to new business acquisition by creating bespoke demos
that differentiate Fingerpaint in the pitch room. Governance &
Ethics Champion the ethical and responsible use of data and AI
across the organization, ensuring proposed solutions are compliant
with internal standards and external regulations. Requirements and
Experience 10 years of experience in creative technology,
innovation, or digital product design, with a background in
advertising. Code: Functional fluency in Python and JavaScript,
with experience using APIs and setting up local development
environments. While not expected to build enterprise-grade
infrastructure, you must be able to write functional, clean code to
build apps and connect systems in collaboration with our
engineering team. Data Fluency: Practical knowledge of data
retrieval and handling. You should be comfortable writing basic SQL
queries, working with structured data formats, and understanding
how to interface with cloud environments to access data for
creative applications. AI Architecture: Familiarity with Vector
Databases and RAG workflows to ground AI models in client data. Art
& Motion: A strong portfolio demonstrating an eye for design,
composition, and visual storytelling. Experience with video
generation tools and traditional editing software is highly
preferred. Copy: High fluency in prompt/context engineering and
working with LLMs for tone, style, and narrative structure. Soft
Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership
skills, with a proven ability to thrive in a demanding, team-based
agency environment, effectively managing priorities to meet
deadlines. Don’t meet every single requirement? That’s okay!
Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely
to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At
Fingerpaint, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and
authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your
experience doesn’t align perfectly, we encourage you to apply
anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other
roles! Our team of qualified recruiters can match you with the
right opportunity. Fingerpaint Group provides equal employment [and
affirmative action] opportunities to all applicants and employees.
We are proud to recruit qualified applicants without regard to
race, color, religion, gender, age, ethnic or national origin,
protected veteran status, physical or mental disability, sexual
orientation, gender identity, marital status, or citizenship
status.
