Finance - Corporate Tax Analyst

Job Summary:

The Tax Analyst role within The Hershey Company is an important part of our Finance team, and will contribute to accounting for Income Taxes, US Federal Income Tax Compliance for international operators, and Transfer Pricing.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Accounting for Income Taxes
    • Prepare quarterly and annual tax provision calculations for domestic entities, including calculations for Subpart F, GILTI, FDII and FTC.
    • Coordinate with accounting personnel at foreign subsidiaries regarding preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations
    • Review of foreign quarterly and annual tax provision calculations
    • Import and review calculations in Onesource Tax Provision software
    • Prepare interim and annual SOX 404 documentation
  • US Federal Income Tax Compliance for Foreign Operations
    • Prepare federal tax filings for foreign subsidiaries, including:
    • Preparing book/tax, E&P, tested income adjustments
    • Sourcing of income and expenses, including related research on sourcing of income rules
    • Working with advisors to prepare tax forms (including 1118, 5471, 8858, 8990-series, 8975)
    • Assist in the foreign tax credit calculations, including expense allocation and apportionment, basketing, OFL and resourcing rules
  • Annual Transfer Pricing Documentation
    • Gather entity level information regarding intercompany transactions involving goods (inventory & fixed assets), services, and royalties and provide to outside service providers for benchmarking analysis
    • Review and revise the narrative portions of the documentation with other Tax Department members to address changes in the functional and risk profiles of each entity
    • Assist accounting personnel with intercompany management fee calculations





  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related fields.
    • CPA certification a plus
  • Minimum of 1+ years of tax experience in a large multinational corporation or Big 4 Accounting firm is preferred.
  • International tax experience.
    • Prefer experience with compliance, tax accounting and transfer pricing
  • Proficiency with Onesource compliance and provision software, preferred.
  • Ability to research tax issues and provide recommendation.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Must be able to team with other groups (Accounting, Treasury, Finance Strategy/M&A and Legal).
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online tax research tools (RIA, CCH, etc.).
