Customer Service - Inside Sales Representative

Job Description:

As an Inside Sales Representative (ISR) for Palram Americas, your primary responsibility will be to service existing and prospective North American customers by processing inquiries and orders-and potentially cross-selling or up-selling in a non pressure environment to bring additional value or performance to the customer. You'll also work to become an extension of one or more Outside Sales Reps (OSRs), providing confident, service-oriented back-up within the organization that will help the OSR's build relationships and meet customer demands. This dynamic pace demands someone who is organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and service-oriented. You will be seen as a valued resource to customers and prospects for a wide variety of information, including pricing, product knowledge, and where to buy Palram products. This position also helps to qualify and manage incoming sales leads, and provide market feedback to the Sales Administration Manager (SAM). The Palram Inside Sales Team relies heavily on a team approach, assist each other when needed and often communicate cross-functionally with Logistics and Production to ensure that Palram delivers customer satisfaction and excellent sales performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accept incoming sales calls and provides best-in-class service while developing relationships with existing and prospective customers
  • Use product and application knowledge to cross- and up-sell products that may bring additional value or performance to customers
  • Provide first-call resolution to customer requests by listening to customers' needs and making appropriate recommendations
  • Respond to customer requests for price/product quotes
  • Gain an intimate understanding of Palram's product lines to ensure the proper selection of product for customer applications
  • Receive and review incoming customer purchase orders for accurate customer specifications and application information to ensure effective and accurate order entry
  • Enter orders and be accountable for attention to detail in order to ensure rapid processing of orders through Palram's supply chain
  • Interact with logistics department to expedite and complete execution of the order process when needed
  • Follow-up with customers as required to provide delivery/order status, shipment tracking, order clarification, technical inquiries, and to coordinate product returns when needed
  • Responsible to perform other duties and activities as directed

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of customer service
  • Energetic and positive attitude
  • Good conflict resolution skills and ability to react professionally to a diverse range of complex problems and potentially frustrating customer issues
  • Critical reasoning skills and aptitude for 'soft selling'
  • Consistently outperforms expectations, from both a customer service and sales perspective
  • Creative and inventive when it comes to driving sales performance

  • Computer skills to include an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) along with ability to adapt to internal ERP systems (SAP custom programming)
  • Exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Possess professional phone manner and presence
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business correspondence and technical procedures and processes for quick decision making.
  • Ability to define products, gather data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions in an expeditious manner.
  • Ability to use independent judgment to act responsibly and professionally in all interactions
