Job Description:
Fulltime - Onsite/Partial Remote - Engineering
- Define project scope, determine work procedures/sequences, team
identification and develop schedules, budgets, vendor lists, and
milestones/check points
- Work with the Sales organization to plan, implement and monitor
progress of new product development projects that have direct
revenue generation potential
- Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to manage the
execution of scale up and process improvement initiatives
- Coordinate design of experiments, oversee implementation,
execution, control, and completion of projects related to new
product launches/process improvement initiatives
- Create and present monthly progress reports and summary reports
(as required) that highlight schedules with milestones, stakeholder
analysis, risks and mitigation measures, and financial
considerations
- Track and manage project(s) costs, identify unfavorable
variances, and work with team members and/or management to minimize
financial and/or schedule impacts throughout the project
lifecycle
- Design and conduct simple proof of concept experiments to
validate our capability and share learnings/gaps with management
team to launch new product development programs via stage gate
process
- Collaborate with cross functional team of stakeholders to develop
and implement a stage gate process suitable for Westlake Plastics
business
- Identify, create, and collaborate with cross functional teams and
leverage expertise from different departments/plants/locations
- Experience working in a stage gate product development
environment
- Excellent project management, analytical and people skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including
presenting to executive level management; ability to convey complex
information in a concise manner to diverse audiences
- Able to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of
the organization and influence team members and stakeholders
without direct management authority
- Able to bring structure to loosely defined processes and to
develop requirements and process when presented with ambiguity
- Proven track record of creating ideas, leading early-stage
projects, and working with multiples stakeholders (internal and
external)
- Able to identify and manage complex interdependencies between
tasks and resources
- Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships, both
internally and externally
- Ability to travel to Customer locations across the US and the
Mayfield, PA plant as required
- Follow and comply with all OSHA and company safety
procedures.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (materials, mechanical,
or equivalent)
- PMP certification or comparable experience preferred
- 5+ years of work experience in managing technical projects/new
product development in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in the Chemical or Plastics industry is highly
preferable, Polymer Engineering experience is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and good working knowledge of
statistical & engineering design toolsPI177766194
