About your Role: A person in this position functions as a caseworker in the Family Preservation and Reunification Program. This position works with families that have children who are at risk of placement outside the home. This position also assists in reuniting families following an out-of-home placement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Initiate and maintain contact with families who are to receive services by making contact within 24 hours of referral and contacting them face to face, and in the home at least twice per week for the length of time of the agreed-upon service (unless otherwise directed upon by the funding source).
• Work with families to develop Family Services Case Plan within one month after being assigned a family. Complete closing summaries within one month of completing services and provide a copy of the closing summary to the referral source.
• Oversee visits by preparing for the visits in advance with the family as needed in the familys home, if the childs safety cannot be assured then visits are conducted in the community or visitation room at RDS. Does the Following Apply to You?
  • Minimum High School diploma/General Equivalency Diploma (GED) with 5 years related experience/training in working with children and families OR
    • Associates Degree in a Human-Services or Child Development related field, with 3 years experience/training in working with children and/or families Preferred:
      • Bachelors Degree in related field
      • Bachelors Degree in unrelated field with minimum 12 credits in a Human Service related course; i.e., psychology, sociology, counseling, etc.
      • 1-year experience/training in working with children and/or families.
