Hershey Medical CenterLocation: US:PA:HersheyWork Type: Part TimeFTE: 0.60Shift: NightHours: 7:00p - 7:00aSUMMARY OF POSITION:Essential member of the health care team responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care. Maintain awareness of patient population needs and scheduling requirements, provide ongoing communication with nursing staff for assigned patients, and prioritize patient care in conjunction with other team members consistently. Assist the team in meeting patient and family goals. Supervision and direction is provided by the Registered Nurse.All Patient Care Assistants (PCA) receive an additional $1.00/hour for their PA Certified Nursing Assistant certification. Night Shift differentials are by PSH HR Policy = $2.50/hour.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant requiredBasic computer skills required (Windows preferred)Must be able to read and comprehend written and verbal instructionsMust be able to communicate effectively with hospital personnel and patient populationExcellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients and team membersAble to prioritize duties and work as a team memberHigh School Diploma or GED required3 months of patient care related experience preferredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*: Able to stand constantly; walk frequently; sit occasionallyAble to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionallyAble to push /pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionallyAble to climb occasionally; reach constantlyAble to use hand for simple/firm grasping *Appended to this job description is the Work Task Analysis that further describes the physical requirements appropriate for this role.This job description is a general outline of duties performed and is not to be misconstrued as encompassing all duties performed within the position.
