PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides support in the purchase, modification and improvement of standard equipment. Provides input related to specific disciplines (i.e. Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical) in cross-functional project teams. Provided design support to more senior engineers. Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned REQUIREMENTS 4-year college degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical, Chemical or Civil) 0 years' experience required; 2 years' experience preferred Basic understanding/knowledge of: Engineering & design PLC's and HMI systems MCC's, low voltage distribution, drive systems, and basic industrial control technology Electrical Engineering standards (i.e. IEEE, NEC, etc.) Steel and concrete analysis and design of industrial building, building foundations, large industrial equipment foundations, large industrial equipment foundations and crane runways Latest ACI, AISC and IBC codes CAD Water recirculation cooling systems, compressed air and pneumatic systems, vacuum systems, hydraulic systems (pumps, valves and control) and natural gas combustion systems Working knowledge of the latest governing codes (ANSI, ASME, AIST, NFPA, JIC, OSHA) Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) PREFERRED: Basic understanding/knowledge of storm water, sanitary systems, property maps and surveying Experience dealing with fabrication shops and equipment vendors Experience with field installation equipment Experience with equipment and process related ergonomic and safety considerations Experience working closely with and in support of plant production and maintenance personnel Excellent communication skills, both written and oralmust be able to express information and make convincing arguments to groups and individuals effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with people from varied backgroundsmust be able to show understanding, courtesy, tact, and empathy Ability to establish priorities and work with minimal supervision Demonstrated problem-solving ability as it relates to: anticipating, identifying, and diagnosing problems, determining accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, make recommendations, and take action from developed contingency plans Ability to foster an environment of commitment, team spirit, pride, and trust Ability to organize work, set priorities, and determine resource requirements as it relates to determining short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them Carpenter Technology Company offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including life, medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, disability coverage, 401k with company contributions as well as many other options to employees.
