The Senior Corporate Buyer will provide strategic support to internal customers across Carpenter with specific focus on procurement of IT and Professional Services. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address business, department and operational challenges. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and department or business plan; receives guidance from manager. Provides technical guidance to employees and/or customers. Develop commodity and risk management strategies for IT and Professional Services ensuring maximum value to internal customers and uninterrupted supply for defined Carpenter Entities. Responsible to meet fiscal year assigned commodity reviews. Development and selection of vendors in response to product requirements established by internal customers. Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers for assigned group of commodities. Contract management to ensure compliance with terms, conditions and internal customer requirements. Responsible for vendor management, supplier reviews, reporting issues, including defects and delivery problems with suppliers, and is responsible for negotiating refunds. Achieving cost reduction and cash flow targets. Procuring under the guidelines of established SQPs Lead global procurement initiatives as needed. Ideal Candidates Will Possess: 4-year college degree 5+ years' experience in procurement in IT Prior exposure to SAP products helpful but not required Demonstrated Proficiency in the Following Areas: Contract Management Understands when a contractor performance requires corrective action and is able to identify the appropriate action to be taken Experienced in contract negotiation, development, and problem resolution Financial Sufficient knowledge of financial accounts to identify companies that are at risk. Sufficiently aware of cost bases to negotiate cost reductions Able to identify when specialized financial advice is needed. Able to apply life cycle cost techniques Information Technology Knowledge of current terminology and previous experience with buying IT software and hardware solutions Project Planning/Management Experience overseeing all phases of project life-cycle Understands the formulation of key components in a project plan Category Management Understands the principles of market shaping and developing supplier capability.
