Location Description

Michael Foods, Inc. located in Klingerstown, Pennyslvania known for their ice cream socials at Klingerstown Lutheran Parish, fishing rodeo, and fireman's parade.


The dispatcher will create outbound shipments from the Klingerstown facility. The dispatcher will co-ordinate transportation using CASA drivers and outside haulers. The dispatcher will schedule delivery appointments for CASA outbound shipments with customers. The Company drivers, customers, and consumers benefit from the work of the dispatcher coordinating delivery appointments to the designated recipients in a timely, effective, and cost-efficient manner to compete in a competitive supply chain environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Schedule and track incoming loads and outbound product delivery appointments.
Maintain effective working relationships with other Michael Foods, Inc. Locations, Transportation Planning, Customer Service, Processing Departments and Warehousing.
Coordinate with Egg Procurement to provide the necessary shell egg transportation between facilities
Communicate appointment times and all other pertinent information to drivers.
Enter applicable information into the SAP computer system.
Use Microsoft excel program to create / edit spreadsheets
Monitor shell egg inventory and supplies of producers serviced by CASA Trucking.
Work with the maintenance department to rotate necessary equipment to the garage location.
Receive phone calls and emails from customers and drivers.
Attend scheduled driver meetings.
Participate on the SMRP transportation safety program.
Ability to attend and be certified in alcohol and controlled substance reasonable suspicion training
Rotate on call weekly with the Transportation Supervisor
Cover duties of Transportation Supervisor during vacations, illness, etc.
Use the electronic logging devices and assist new drivers in learning the system
Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
Performs other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification
A valid CDL Class A Operator's license with tanker endorsement and proven hands-on safe tractor trailer operating experience desired.
Good organizational skills are critical due to pressures of multi-tasking demands.
Proven customer service experience.
Ability to work indoors in normal office setting for duration of shift.
Ability to work weekends and overtime (will be on call every other week).
Ability to answer work-related calls from home during off-work hours.
Ability to answer phones, accurately receive and communicate pertinent information.
Basic computer skills with ability to input data into Micro-soft excel spreadsheets. Use of Micro-soft email to send and receive correspondence.
