Position Summary:

A Penske Senior Financial Analyst for the Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA) department provides analysis and related metrics for FPA's ongoing financial reporting and financial forecasting responsibilities. The position will require the ability to:

  • Design, develop, and maintain financial models which ensure reporting and process compliance requirements are met accurately and efficiently.
  • Query and analyze data from Penske's multiple data systems through the use of SQL and "Big Data" visualization software packages (eg, Qlikview, Tableau, Alteryx)
  • Identify and institute Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that enable the quantification and explanation of the drivers of any given set of general ledger financial accounts across the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statements
  • Develop analytical dashboards/data models and publish dashboards in collaboration with IT department in order to provide self-service analysis and relevant KPIs to FPAs internal customers (employees) and Penske's external customers.
    As one of 4 associates from the FPA department responsible for the overall stewardship of the FPA India reporting team, this role will assist the FPA India team to troubleshoot any errors that arise in report production and continually look for ways to streamline and improve quality of analysis. The use of "Big Data" software packages such as Qlikview and/or Tableau to potentially eliminate the manual production of certain FPA India reports will also be within the scope of this role.

    Work Schedule: Hybrid (Remote 2 days/Onsite 3 days)

    Major Responsibilities:
    -Query and analyze data for trends that impact the 3 financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow)
    -Prepare ongoing monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports.
    -Carry out ad-hoc analysis projects as assigned.
    -Identification of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that drive a particular General Ledger (GL) account and Incorporation of the KPIs into financial models and related reports
    -Identify, develop and implement automated solutions for analysis and related reporting through use of Excel (pivot tables, macros), Robotics and "Big Data" software packages (Qlikview, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL)
    -Participate in identifying & building process for revenue and cost recovery opportunities
    -Other projects, tasks and ad-hoc requests as assigned by supervisor.

    -At least 3 years finance, data analytics, business or operational experience required
    -At least 3 years of business or operational exp erience preferred
    -Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or MBA with concentration in Finance/Accounting required
    -MBA preferred
    -Strong analytical skills required
    -Independent problem solving skills required
    -Strong oral and written communication skills required
    -Advanced use of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, indexing, macros, sumif statements) required
    -Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Powerpoint reuired
    -Proficiency in "Big Data" Software (Qlikview, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, PowerQuery) preferred
    -Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
    -Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
