JOB SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse/RN in this role is responsible for accepting
incoming referral information via multimedia and working directly
with bed management and direct care nursing to coordinate inpatient
bed assignments (particularly critically ill) for patients at Penn
State Health, Hershey Medical Center. The RN also coordinates,
prioritizes, and optimizes patient flow using knowledge of clinical
and operational activities throughout the hospital network.
The RN will need strong critical thinking, accurate assessment, and
problem solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication
skills required in attention to detail.
High-level analytical ability required in order to resolve complex
patient flow issues.
Interpersonal skills required. Knowledge in nursing concepts,
practices, and procedures required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered Nurse with a license to practice professional nursing in
the state of Pennsylvania or a Registered Nurse from another state
with a Temporary PA Practice Permit
3 years Critical Care Nursing experience required
6 months of experience working as a RN
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
5 years Critical Care Nursing experience preferred.
