Responsibilities









The Plant Mechanic will work on a crew at the quarry. They must possess critical thinking and communication skills, an ability to learn, a commitment to safety, and a hard working attitude. Mechanical and fabrication skills are necessary and equipment operation experience is beneficial. Occassional travel to our quarry in Leola, PA and Devault, PA (FIRST SHIFT POSITION) Daily, Weekly, Monthly Duties Include:

Support company's visions, values, and practices as well as our corporate philosophy of Better Faster SAFE.Be an active advocate and participant in Allan Myers Safety culture. Adhere to safety policies and make safety your first Priority. Be involved in and support Safe Production TeamsPlan and perform preventative maintenance tasks to eliminate downtimePerform scheduled, breakdown, and winter maintenance repairs safely, efficiently, and properlyProvide innovative solutions to improve plant reliability, performance, and safetyFabricate Plant components as neededCutting, welding, motor drive component repairs, steel component relining, and daily plant inspections are common tasks.Perform minor repairs to mobile equipment.Operate equipment (loader, manlift, skidsteer, forklift, etc.) to perform necessary tasks. Equipment task training available.Perform Tasks and operate equipment (CAT 980 or 966 is common) as needed to support productionPerform routine documentation (i.e. Hazard Assessment, Hot Work Permit, confines space permits, etc.)













Qualifications









  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience working in a quarry
    3-5 years of maintenance experience preferred.Experience with motor drive component repairs, steel component relinin and daily plant inspectionsExperience operating heavy equipment is a plus
