SummaryThe Instrumentation and Electrical Mechanic supports plant operations by maintaining and troubleshooting Instrumentation & Electrical equipment in a continuous manufacturing process environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:The essential functions include, but are not limited to)

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance activities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, install, test and calibrate Electrical & Instrumentation manufacturing equipment using standard and/or quality procedures
  • Follow work schedule and complete maintenance activities and records in the computer system
  • Provide Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance support to manufacturing operations
  • Safely operate equipment such as hoists, forklifts and rigging equipment to perform duties
  • Participation in failure analysis.
  • Read drawings, electrical layout and manuals to diagnose problems, identify parts and learn equipment operation and compliance codes.**Qualifications:**
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Associates Degree preferred but not required
    • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in the Instrumentation & Electrical field (prefer chemical plant experience)
    • Possess good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
    • Possess good interpersonal skills in communication, listening, and good safety practices
    • Proficient with computers
    • Strong initiative, team player, and positive attitudeWork Relationships:
      • Internal: This position requires communication throughout all levels of the organization
      • External: This position may require communication with vendors, internal and external customers and vendors
      • Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
      • Supervises: n/aWorking Conditions:
        • Work requires normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination
        • Corrected hearing and vision to normal acceptable range
        • A significant amount of time will be spent in a production environment
        • Production area is not climate controlled and may experience extreme temperatures
        • This position requires the ability to climb stairs and ladders
        • Driving of cars, trucks, forklifts or other equipment may be needed
        • Working at heights, climbing ladders and stairs required
        • Ear plugs, hard hat, gloves and high temperature protective gear required
        • Use of fall PPE protection as required
        • This position requires approximately 8-10 hours per day standing and/or walking

          • Adheres to Alpek Industries, LLC's GMP requirements
          • Identifies product and/or situations that risk product contamination
          • Identifies product and/or situations that violate cleaning and pest control requirements
          • Reports equipment needing repair to supervision and avoid temporary repairs
          • Any recent maintenance work was cleaned up and does not pose any risk to product
          • Follows applicable PRP's and OPRP's (as required)
          • Practices good hygiene and does not eat or drink in the production area or smoke except in designated areas outside the building. (water in plastic bottles is allowed)You should be proficient in:
            • Electrical Troubleshooting Skills
            • Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills
            • Pneumatics Experience
            • Hydraulics Experience
            • Mechanical Assembly Skills
            • High School / GED
